Common questions
How do I get my progress onto a new phone?
Settings → Backup → Copy. That puts everything you have trained into your clipboard as text. Paste it somewhere you can reach from the new phone — a note or an email to yourself — then on the new phone go to Settings → Backup → Paste, paste it in and tap Restore. Progress is merged line by line, newest first, so nothing already on the new phone is lost.
I paid, but the Black recommendations are still locked.
Open the finder, choose Black, and tap Restore purchases on the screen that appears — the same button is in Settings too. That asks Apple what your Apple ID owns and unlocks it again. If it still does not open, check that the device is signed in with the same Apple ID that made the purchase.
How do I cancel the subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside the app: iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Chess Opening Book → Cancel. Cancelling keeps it active until the end of the period you already paid for.
Can I start an opening again from the beginning?
Yes. Open it in Many reps and tap Start from scratch under the board. That resets the stages for that opening and colour only; everything else is untouched.
The reminder never arrives.
Reminders need permission from iOS. If you refused it the first time, the switch in Settings cannot turn itself on — go to iPhone Settings → Chess Opening Book → Notifications and allow them there, then switch the reminder on again in the app.
Does it work without internet?
Entirely. Every opening ships inside the app and nothing is fetched while you train. A connection is needed only to buy or restore a subscription, which is Apple's part.
Privacy
The app collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere. The details are on the privacy policy page.
